Domains

A domain is an area (branch) of the Internet domain name space, for example, goodhoster.net: net is a first-level domain, goodhoster is a second-level domain that is part of the first-level domain net. But often, when we use the word “domain” we mean “domain name”, for example, goodhoster.net.

A domain name is a unique symbolic name consisting of the names of all domains it is part of, separated by dots, for example, goodhoster.net is the entire domain name consisting of the domains goodhoster and net. A domain name is used for addressing Internet nodes. Computers on the Internet are identified by their IP addresses. A domain name gives us the opportunity not to memorize the numerical values of IP addresses in the network. Knowing the domain name of a particular node (IP address), we can connect to the desired node, since the domain name is automatically converted to an IP address using DNS. It is used for addressing websites, e-mail and other services in the network in a human-friendly form. That is, in order to operate a website on the Internet, in addition to the website program, you need to buy a “domain name” - a unique name by which your website will be referred to on the Internet or simply called the website web address.

Domains are registered in all zones listed on our website. If you have any doubts about the possibility of registering a domain name in any zone, you can clarify this issue with the technical support service at any time by mail or via online chat on the website.

Most often, the following conditions must be met to transfer a domain:

1. The domain should not be blocked by the old registrar, for example: “status: Locked” (or maybe status: ClientTransferProhibited) means that the domain is blocked from transfer, ”status: Ok” will mean that the domain name is not blocked. You can find out the status by viewing the publicly available Whois information of the domain.

2. In the whois information of the domain name, the “Administrative Contact” or “Technical Contact” should contain your mailbox to which you have access. An email with transfer confirmation will be sent to the specified mailbox. If your current registrar's mailbox was indicated in whois, you need to write them a request to change the mailbox to yours, to transfer the domain to another registrar.

3. You need to provide us with a transfer key (secret code). You can request it from your current registrar.

Domain name transfer takes place within a week. The transfer time also depends on how quickly it is confirmed from the mailbox specified in the Whois information. At any time, you can write to our technical support service, specify the domain name and you will be advised on what needs to be done to correctly transfer the domain to us as a registrar.

A subdomain is a domain name that is formed from a top-level domain zone and an additional domain separated by a period. For example: support.goodhoster.net is a subdomain for goodhoster.net, in turn, goodhoster.net is a subdomain for the net domain. You have a domain name, for example: goodhoster.net, if you add any other domain to it (for example, support or 123best), you will get a subdomain support.goodhoster.net 123best.goodhoster.net and so on.

A parked domain is an additional domain name that is assigned to your website, an additional web address for your website. For example, you have one...

Below are the basic steps to understand when and whom to contact:

2. If the ping fails, check if the domain registration period has not expired.

3. Using any whois service, check if the DNS for the domain is correct.

4. Check whether the DNS has created a domain zone and the number of ...
