• What is domain name and why do I need it?

  Domain – area of the domain names in the internet. For example, goodhoster.net: net is a first level domain, goodhoster is a second level domain that is inclduded in the first level domain – net. But usually, when we say «domain» we actually mean «domain name» - for example goodhoster.net.

• How can I transfer a domain from another registrar to you?

  These are conditions for a domain transfer :

  1. Domain must not be blocked, for example «status:Locked» or «Client transfer prohibited» mean that your domain is blocked from the transfer. Status «ok» means your domain is allowed to be transferred. You can find out the status of your domain by checking the whois domain information.

  Subdomain is a domain that is formed from the highest level domain zone and an additional domain, separated by comma. For example support.goodhoster.net is a subdomain for a goodhoster.net, therefore goodhoster.net is a subdomain of a domain net. • Domain is not responding or doesn't work. What can be the reason?

  Domain does not respond to web requests. How do you know the reason? what to do?

  Here are the basic steps of action in order to understand when and who to contact:

  1. Check if the domain gets pinged from your PC ( tape: ping Your_Domain in console). If domain is pinged then the problem has to do with server, and you need to contact technical support.

  2. If it doesn't ping, check whether the domain registration isn't expired.
